US SENATOR (Full Term):

(NOTE: There are TWO U.S. SENATE races on this March 5 Ballot. BOTH are for the SAME SEAT, that is to succeed DEM Senator Diane Feinstein, who passed away Sept 2023. One is to FINISH her term. And the other is for a full 6-year term (to begin Jan 2025).

Recommendation: STEVE GARVEY (R)

Comments: While many Conservatives like ERIC EARLY or JAMES BRADLEY (I do, too!), the two don’t have a “snowballs chance in hell” of making it to the top two, to advance to TOP TWO in Nov general election.

Currently, polling in first place is liberal DEM, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, followed by DEM and unabashed Progressive-Socialist, Katie Porter. If it could get worse than Schiff, Porter IS it!

Because of disastrous Prop 14, erroneously passed by CA Voters yrs ago, the top 2 Voter-getters advance to the General Election in Nov, regardless of party affiliation. However, polling well lately, and neck-in-neck w/Porter, is former ML Baseball 1st-baseman, Ex-Dodger and REPUBLICAN, STEVE GARVEY. With GARVEY’S name recognition, REPUBLICANS “could” have an opportunity for the first CA US Senator, since 1988. Is Garvey a Conservative? It’s hard to know at this point. I suspect he is more Conservative in his values, than he may be willing to reveal from his interviews and recent debates, we do know, for sure, he voted for TRUMP twice. BORDER: He wants to “SECURE the border… LEGAL pathway into. . . country and . . .citizen [ship].” ABORTION: He was quoted as saying, he is “against national abortion!” I can only guess that he thinks the Supreme Court, got it right.

Garvey’s “squeaky-clean” image was shattered in the 80’s when he divorced, had multiple affairs, impregnated several women, had child custody issues, and was in a financial mess. He eventually re-married to wife #2 in 1989, and for the last 30 yrs, it appears his “mid-life disaster” (as he called it) is over. I tell you about these negatives in his past, because if he continues to go up in the polls, it will be revealed. For now, Garvey is my “pick” as the ONLY “VIABLE REPUBLICAN” w/any chance.

Garvey, so far, has been endorsed by REFORM CALIFORNIA (RC) and its leader Carl DeMaio. RC is generally on the side of conservative issues and common sense but does not represent the Pro-Life /Pro-Traditional Family’s stance of solid Conservatives.

US Senator (Partial/Unexpired):

Recommendation: STEVE GARVEY (R) -See above

US Rep 38th Dist

(part of this district is in OC, w/majority in LA COUNTY)

Recommendation: ERIC J. CHING (R)

Comments: ERIC CHING is a Conservative Patriot, former mayor and current City Councilmember of the City of Walnut and would be a great candidate to take this seat from long-time, entrenched liberal DEM, LINDA SANCHEZ (gag!). Ching is endorsed by the OC GOP (REP PARTY, and by Craig Huey’s Election Forum, and conservative CA Republican Assembly.

https://www.ericchingforcongress.com/

US Rep 40th Dist

Recommendation: YOUNG KIM (R)

Comments: I’m NOT a fan of Young Kim, as she is not a strong Conservative, and I have not always agreed with her votes. HOWEVER, she is far BETTER than any DEMOCRAT candidate, and definitely the best of those available.

www.YoungKimForCongress.com

US Rep 45th Dist

Recommendation: MICHELLE STEEL (R)

Comments: STEEL is endorsed by the OC GOP has consistently voted Conservatively in the US Congress. She is endorsed by the CA Republican Party, Conservative Craig Huey of ELECTION FORUM, Carl DeMaio’s REFORM CALFORNIA,

www.MichelleSteelCA.com

US Rep 46th Dist

(covers Santa Ana, Stanton, Anaheim, Orange, Fullerton)

Recommendation: DAVID PAN (R)

Comments: DAVID PAN is one of 2 candidates on ballot for this office, running against entrenched DEMOCRAT, LOU CORREA. So, he will automatically go to the Gen Election Nov Ballot. Is he a Conservative? No, in fact he even stated so, on his site and is even a newly registered REPUBLICAN, after seeing how disappointing the DEMOCRAT PARTY is in the areas of his main concerns: Education (supports School Choice for all parents), Lawlessness (“rising crime is endangering families and neighborhoods”), and the Economy (runaway Government spending is causing Inflation). He also has some other INTERESTING issues he’s recently added to his site. Why vote for him? He is better than the alternative, liberal DEM, Lou Correa.

He is the son of Taiwanese immigrants. He has degrees from Stanford and Columbia Universities and is a professor at UC Irvine.

www.davidpanforcongress.com

US Rep 47th Dist

Recommendation: SCOTT BAUGH (R)

Comments: SCOTT BAUGH ran for this same seat in Nov 2022, and NARROWLY lost to incumbent, liberal, socialist DEM, Katie Porter. But Porter has vacated this seat to run for US Senate from CA this election, opening up this 47th seat for BAUGH. He is the BEST KNOWN Republican and has the best chance of flipping the 47th RED again.

I have vetted and recommended BAUGH in past elections. He served in the CA Assembly from 1995 to 2000 and is a former OC Republican Party Chairman. He supports Conservative values, like limited government, lower taxes, secure border, debt reduction, is a strict constitutionalist, and is Pro-Life. He’s a graduate of Liberty University and has a law degree from University of the Pacific. His endorsements include, CA GOP, OC GOP, Lincoln Club, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assoc, Reform CA, US Senator Ted Cruz, OC Sheriff Don Barnes, Craig Huey’s Election Forum, Former CA Sen John Moorlach, and many more.

NOTE: There are some solid conservatives who feel BAUGH is too much a part of the Republican “establishment”, and are backing MAX UKROPINA, who is fine, too. However, UKROPINA has little name recognition, and is HIGHLY unlikely to become a part of the TOP 2 to advance to the General Election. We Republicans are good at “shooting ourselves in the foot” and splitting the vote, while 2 DEMS advance to NOV. DON’T let this happen. Vote BAUGH!

https://baughforcongress.com/

US Rep 49th Dist:

Recommendation: KATE MONROE (R)

Comments: MONROE, a former MARINE, is a businesswoman, Mom, Disabled Veterans Advocate, Fox News Commentator, and Christian author (2011 “Guardian”, 2023 “The Race to Save America”) and is Pro-life. She appears to have the spunk and energy to be a “bulldog” fighter in Congress, and a staunch supporter of DONALD TRUMP. She is endorsed by the Conservative Republican Assembly (CRA). Because the majority of District 49 is in San Diego County, she is not well-known in OC. People of the 49th, VOTE MONROE!

(Please do NOT vote for “NON-Conservative”, MATT GUNDERSON. When he ran 2 yrs ago, he BOASTED in his mailers, that he was “100% PRO-CHOICE” (pro-abortion) and supported gender choice.)

CA STATE

GOVERNMENT

ca sENATE

CA STATE SENATE - 37th Dist:

Recommendation: CRYSTAL MILES (R)

Comments: This seat is currently filled by Liberal DEM, Josh Newman, who narrowly won 2 yrs ago, and who has consistently supported GOV NEWSOM’S Liberal/Progressive agenda, including the horrible GAS TAX. This seat IS FLIPPABLE, so let’s do just that!

I’m recommending CRYSTAL MILES, who is a VILLA PARK City Councilwoman and former Mayor, a solid Conservative, both socially and fiscally. Per MILES: “I am a conservative Republican running for the State Senate to shake up the liberal/progressive status quo in Sacramento.” She is endorsed by the conservative CA Republican Assembly, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assoc and a whole slew of Republican elected officials, including former CA Conservative Senator Mike Morell (who is stingy w/his endorsements), but said of MILES, “I’m supporting Republican Crystal Miles because she is a true defender of PARENTAL RIGHTS . . . [in education]. She is the BEST candidate to flip the 37th.

Perhaps a more KNOWN Republican “name” running here also, is former Irvine mayor, STEVEN CHOI. Nothing wrong with CHOI, as he is conservative, but he has been in OC politics for over 25 yrs, and is now 80. God bless him! But I think REPUBLICANS need “younger blood” to serve. It is going to take a lot of energy to shake up the “liberal/progressive status quo in Sacramento”. VOTE CRYSTAL MILES for CA Senate 37, who has that energy.

(NOTE #1: Update as of 2-15, I heard little known, successful businessman, Guy Selleck, speak last night, and talked to him afterwards. He was impressive, a solid Conservative, running for all the RIGHT REASONS, ie, he is sick of the direction CA is going. But he has little support of conservatives or groups, and limited campaign funds. I encouraged him to run again for elective office. He SEEMS to line up with my conservative criteria very nicely.)

(NOTE #2 : DEM opponent, Josh Newman, is endorsed by evil PLANNED PARENTHOOD, Dem Party, and a slew of LIBERAL-LEFT elected officials.)

ca aSSEMBLY

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 59th Dist

(covers portions of Orange and San Bernardino counties and includes all or parts of the cities of Anaheim Hills, Brea, Chino, Chino Hills, Fullerton, North Tustin, Orange, Placentia, Villa Park, and Yorba Linda.

Recommendation: PHILLIP CHEN (R)

Comments: Endorsed by OC Republican Party (OC GOP). An incumbent doing as good as could be expected, being the minority party, with a DEM majority Trifecta in all 3 CA branches of Gov (Executive Offices, CA Senate, and CA Assembly). Pathetic!

https://www.phillipchen.org/

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 64th Dist:

Recommendation: RAUL ORTIZ JR (R)

Comments: ORTIZ describes himself as a “Christian Constitutionalist Republican”. He serves on the Board of the conservative CA Republican Assembly and is endorsed by them. He attends MY church, Calvary Chapel, Chino Hills, but we have never met. Ortiz ran against this same candidate in Nov 2022, garnering nearly 40% of vote, nearly winning the OC vote, but much of this district is in LA Co. He is banking on voters’ disenchantment with DEMS to carry him this time. He is also OC & CA GOP-endorsed. People of 64th, VOTE ORTIZ!

https://www.raulortizforassembly.com/

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 67th Dist

(covers Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton West, La Palma)

Recommendation: ELIZABETH “BETH” CULVER (R)

Comments: Conservative CULVER is the ONLY Republican in this race and is endorsed by the OC GOP (Republican Party) and MAKE OC GREAT AGAIN.

(NOTE: DEM opponent, Sharon Quirk-Silva, is endorsed by evil PLANNED PARENTHOOD, Dem Party, and a slew of LIBERAL elected officials.)

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 68th Dist

(covers Anaheim, Orange, and Santa Ana)

Recommendation: MIKE TARDIF (R)

Comments: Small businessman for over 30 yrs, who believes the DEM Super-majority is way off-track for CA. He is endorsed by the OC and CA GOP, the Chairman of the OC GOP, Fred Whitaker, and many others. His opponent is 1st term DEM incumbent, AVELINO VALENCIA, who Tardif ran against in Nov 2022. VALENCIA is endorsed by PLANNED PARENTHOOD. Let’s flip this seat!

(NOTE: DEM opponent, Avelino Valencia, is endorsed by evil PLANNED PARENTHOOD, Dem Party, and a slew of LIBERAL elected officials.)

https://votetardif.com/

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 70th Dist

(covers Los Alamitos, Stanton, Westminster, Garden Grove, Fountain Valey, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, parts of Santa Ana)

Recommendation: TRI TA (R)

Comments: Incumbent TRI TA won this seat in Nov 2022, after having served as mayor of Westminster. An immigrant from Vietnam, he is endorsed by the OC GOP, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assoc, and many others Republican office holders.

https://ad70.asmrc.org/

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 71st Dist

(covers Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, unincorporated areas

of Las Flores, Coto De Caza, Trabuco Canyon, Dove Canyon). THIS IS MY DISTRICT.

Recommendation: “KATE” KATHRYN SANCHEZ (R)

Comments: A solid Conservative Republican incumbent, who has done a good job in our DEM-Led TRIFECTA CA Government and deserves to be re-elected. She is endorsed by OC GOP (Republican Party), conservative CA Republican Assembly, Carl De Maio’s REFORM CALIFORNIA, Conservative Craig Huey’s Election Forum, and lots of Conservative Republican Elected Officials.

www.SanchezForAssembly.com

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - 72nd Dist

Recommendation: DIANE DIXON (R)

Comments: Endorsed by the OC GOP (Rep Party) and the conservative CA Republican Assembly. Additionally, endorsed by tons of known conservative in OC.

(NOTE: DEM opponent, Dom Jones, is endorsed by evil PLANNED PARENTHOOD, Dem Party, and a slew of LIBERAL elected officials)

www.DianeDixonForAssembly.com

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 73rd

(covers Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest)

Recommendation: SCOTTY PEOTTER (R)

Comments: SCOTTY PEOTTER is a Solid CONSERVATIVE in every area and adheres to all of the values as stated in my CONSERVATIVE CRITERIA. He will make an “EXCELLENT” ASSEMBLYMAN for Dist 73. Don’t even think about voting for anyone else, and tell all your fellow voters, friends, and neighbors, to vote PEOTTER. He is endorsed by the conservative CA Republican Assembly, Make Orange County Great Again, CA ProLife, Reform OC Pac, and CRAIG HUEY’S Christian, Conservative Vote site, www. ELECTION FORUM.org/orange-county/.

This seat needs to be flipped RED again, from DEM, liberal/progressive COTTIE PETRIE-NORRIS, who is endorsed by evil PLANNED PARENTHOOD, Dem Party, and a slew of LIBERAL elected officials).

NOTE: BTW, I believe the OC GOP got it WRONG. They did not endorse PEOTTER, bc of “timing” or something like that. They instead, endorsed Hengameh Abraham, who is also a good conservative, just not as good as PEOTTER, in my opinion.

https://taxfighter.com/

CA STATE ASSEMBLY - Dist 74th

(covers Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, San Clemente)

Recommendation: LAURIE DAVIES (R)

Comments: Conservative incumbent, LAURIE DAVIES has done a good job and deserves to be re-elected. Endorsed by the OC GOP, and many conservative Republican groups.

(NOTE: DEM opponent, Chris Duncan, is endorsed by evil PLANNED PARENTHOOD, Dem Party, and a slew of LIBERAL elected officials)

Oc (COUNTY)

GOVERNMENT:

OC SUPERVISOR - 1st Dist

(covers Cypress, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, La Palma, Seal Beach, and Westminster)

Recommendation: JANET NGUYEN (R)

Comments: The OC Register doesn’t ALWAYS get it right, but they did on this one by endorsing JANET NGUYEN, w/ the comment, “Elect JANET NGUYEN to OC Board of Supervisors [Dist 1]: Given the options, it’s just NOT a difficult decision to make.” NGUYEN is endorsed by the OC GOP (OC Republican Party), the Conservative CA Republican Assembly,

www.JanetForSupervisor.com

OC SUPERVISOR - 3rd Dist

Recommendation: DON WAGNER (R)

Comments: Incumbent WAGNER is endorsed by the OC GOP (Rep Party) and conservative CA Republican Assembly, and just about EVERY elected Republican in OC.

WAGNER’S opponent, FARRAH N. KHAN, is a Progressive Liberal Democrat, endorsed by the OC DEM Party, Planned Parenthood, the largest provider of abortions in the nation, lots of organized labor, and all the Who’s Who or OC Elected Left Liberals.

OC

REPUBLICAN

CENTRAL

COMMITEE

WHAT DOES THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE DO? It encourages OC Republicans to seek public office, holds Republican Voter Registrations, vets and endorses Republican Candidates, contributes funds, provides leadership and manpower to Republican nominees, provides Public Relations to educate the general public on Republican Principles.

NOTE #1: For CENTRAL COMMITTEES, One doesn’t have to vote for 6. But I have selected 6 for each district anyway.

NOTE #2: There are many ALREADY ELECTED OFFICE HOLDERS (who may be well known) running for CENTRAL COMMITTEE (CC). Many are OK, too! But, I believe, the CC is a good place for “GRASS ROOTS” candidates to run, who are NEW to elective office to run for positions. Additionally, non-office holders can act as a “Citizen’s Watchdog” over candidates, to ensure that it doesn’t become a group who just ENDORSES each other, that is, “I scratch your back, and you scratch mine”. I believe we need a mixture of both “experienced” and “newbie” candidates for CC.

NOTE #3: In some Districts, there are MORE GOOD ONES than slots available. I have tried to balance out NEWBIES w/incumbents and current office holders.

MEMBER-59th

NOTE #1: Covers: Anaheim Hils, Brea, Fullerton East, North Tustin, Orange East Placentia, Villa Park, Yorba Linda

NOTE #2: Please do not vote for JANICE LIM or ANTHONY JOHNSON. While Republican, they are NOT solid CONSERVATIVES.

Recommendation: 1) DEAN GROSE, 2) JIM CUNNEEN, 3) STEPHANIE KLOPFENSTEIN, 4) KC WOLBERT, 5) JULIAN DE LAO, 6) AMY PHAN WEST

MEMBER-71st

NOTE #1: Covers Rancho Santa Margarit, Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, unincorporated areas (Las Flores, Coto De Caza, Trabuco Canyon, Dove Danyon). THIS IS MY DISTRICT.

NOTE #2: While I consider Mission Viejo City Council member, Wendy Bucknum, a conservative, and have recommended her for MVCC in the past, I am NOT including her here, because I believe it best to have “NON-OFFICE HOLDER” fill these “grass roots” (GR) positions, if GOOD Grass Roots candidates, ARE AVAILABLE. The ones recommended ARE good “GRASS ROOTS” candidates.

Recommendation: 1) SUSAN STIVERS, 2) JOHN GRESKO, 3) LINDA KOELLING, 4) WALTER NIRENBERG, 5) SAGA CONROY

6) NICK WILSON

MEMBER-72nd

NOTE: Covers Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest

Recommendation: 1) SCOTTY PEOTTER, 2) CHRISTINA SHEA, 3) JOHN MOORLACH, 4) JENNYE BIGELOW, 5) CHRIS GONZALEZ, 6) AUSTIN LUMBARD

MEMBER-74th

NOTE: Covers Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, San Clemente

NOTE # 2: There are many more good ones for this office, like Ray Gennawey, Kelly Jennings, Laurie Davies. One could easily exchange one of these 3. My objective was to pick mainly those not already in elective office, to expose new conservatives to the OC GOP and elective office.

Recommendations: 1) STEVEN KNOBLOCK, 2) AARON WASHINGTON, 3) CHRIS KING, 4) MICHELLE MORGAN, 5) GALINA CONNERY, 6) CODY MARTIN

OC Schools-

BOARD OF

EDUCATION

TRUSTEE AREA 1

Recommendation: JORGE VALDES (R)

Comments: VALDES is the Conservative incumbent, who was appointed by the board to fill a vacancy. He supports local school control (not Sacramento or Washington DC telling what schools should do), and strongly supports CHARTER SCHOOLS, as an option for parents. “We need to give parents a stronger voice in their child’s education”, per his ballot statement, and I agree! Endorsed by the conservative CA Republican Assembly and the OC GOP (Rep Party),

TRUSTEE AREA 3

Recommendation: KENNETH WILLIAMS, JR, MD (R)

Comments: Dr. Williams is a Physician, a father, a professor, and an OC Reserve Sheriff Deputy. He supports all of the ideals of CONSERVATIVE Voters, i.e., “Back-to-Basics education, preserving the innocence of our children by opposing radical sex education curriculums, opposes Critical Race Theory, and “woke” nonacademic educational curriculums and supports Charter Schools as an option for parents. Dr. Williams is an incumbent who deserves to be re-elected. Endorsed by the conservative CA Republican Assembly, and the OC GOP (Rep Party),

(On the contrary, KEN WILLIAM’S opponent, Nancy Watkins, is totally liberal, and endorsed by the OC DEM Party, Planned Parenthood, CA Teacher Assoc Union, lots of Labor Unions.)

https://drken4ocbe.com/

TRUSTEE AREA 4:

Recommendation: TIM SHAW (R)

Comments: Shaw and his wife are both teachers, Tim at the College level and Shannon in elementary school. He is a father of 6, all educated in Public School. He previously served on the City Council and was mayor of La Habra. He strongly supports CONSERVATIVE education issues, including protecting local control of our school districts, keeping the State from injecting politics into our classrooms, keeping our schools safe, making sure students and their parents have a voice in their education, and Charter Schools as a choice for parents. Shaw is the incumbent, has done a good job and deserves to be re-elected to the OC Board of Education. He has the endorsement by a whole slew of OC CONSERVATIVES in elected office, including OC Sheriff, Don Barnes, and OC GOP (Repub Party). Endorsed by the conservative CA Republican Assembly and the OC GOP (Rep Party).

OC JUDICIAL

Note: There are two types of judges: “JUDICIAL ACTIVISTS” and “STRICT CONSTRUCTIONISTS”.

JUDICIAL ACTIVISTS “legislates from the bench”, instead of applying the law to facts. They rule based on their own personal values. They are usually LIBERAL.

STRICT CONSTRUCTIONISTS apply the law to facts, and impartially arrive at a fair judgment based on law. They are usually Conservative.

SUPERIOR CT - No 3

Recommendation: JASON BAEZ (R)

Comments: Though this is a non-partisan office, BAEZ is a Republican. He is 20 yrs with the OC District Attorney’s office, and has received the endorsement of OC DA, Todd Spitzer, the OC GOP (Rep Party), OC Sheriff Don Barnes, and many other Conservative office holders. Endorsed by the conservative CA Republican Assembly, and the OC GOP (Rep Party). BAEZ is also endorsed by noted Christian Conservative Ballot Researcher (esp on Judges!), CRAIG HUEY, of: https://judgevoterguide.com/by-state-judge-races/#california

www.BaezForJudge.com

SUPERIOR CT - No 16

Recommendation: BINH DANG (R)

Comments: To say this one has been a hard one to research and make a “pick” in this 2-man NON-PARTISAN race, is an understatement. STRUGGLE: Candidate, RICHARD ZIMMER is a registered DEMOCRAT, but he has gotten some good endorsements from “across the aisle” Republicans, most notably, OC Sheriff, DON BARNES (generally known to NOT ONLY be a Republican, but also a Conservative) and Todd Spitzer, a Republican. Also others!

On the contrary, BINH DANG, is a registered REPUBLICAN, though recently so. Why didn’t SPITZER and BARNES recommend DANG? Probably because they don’t KNOW him. While DANG and family have lived in OC for over 30 yrs, he WORKS IN LA, where he is a LA CO PUBLIC DEFENDER for the past 18 yrs, and likely UNKNOWN to BARNES & SPITZER. ZIMMER is known to them as he is an OC Deputy District Attorney, ie, SPITZER is his BOSS. They also may not even know, ZIMMER is a DEM. DANG has a slew of endorsements, too, but mainly from judges and others who are in LA CO.

After MUCH thought, discussion w/advisors, and prayer, I am recommending REPUBLICAN, BINH DANG, after confirming that DANG, w/18 yrs as a LA CO Deputy Public Defender, is very experienced and known to be well-qualified. He was born in Viet Nam, where his father was a Major with South Viet Nam Air Force. He, along with his family were evacuated to US when young, when Viet Nam fell. Per his site: “[I am] grateful to America, for the US soldiers who helped liberate [my] family during the fall of Saigon”. He says he is grateful for the freedom and opportunities the US affords.

DANG is endorsed by noted Christian Conservative Ballot Research (esp on Judges!), CRAIG HUEY, too, of: https://judgevoterguide.com/by-state-judge-races/#california

Additionally, Dang graduated from Mater Dei HS in Santa Ana, and is a practicing Catholic. In the interest of his jurist integrity, would not confirm if he believes in the Catholic Church's teaching, that says, "Life Begins at Conception".

PROP 1:

BORROWS $6.38 Billion in BOND (debt) to Build Mental Health Treatment Facilities; Provides Housing for the Homeless

Recommendation: A BIG FAT “NO”

Comments: “COTS, NOT CONDOS!”

FIRST: Without even knowing what this PROP if about, I would recommend a NO because it is a “BOND”! It means CA will get into DEBT to pay for these projects. All BONDS, in order to REPAY, will cost approx TWICE the amt borrowed when repaid, and is a TERRIBLE way to raise revenue. The interest payments will have to come from already stressed General Funds. Us Taxpayers, our children and grandchildren will have to pay off this debt with the need to increase taxes for many yrs to come. CA is already “SWIMMING” in BOND DEBT. We cannot afford ANYMORE! Just like you and me, CA needs to LIVE WITHIN OUR MEANS, and NOT BORROW. SAY NO to PROP 1, (and ALL FUTURE BOND DEBT).

SECOND: PROP 1 is NEWSOM’S “Pet Project”. This Prop will NOT help HOMELESSNESS but is NEWSOM’S Ploy to have something to highlight on “Homelessness” in future campaigning. He convinced legislators to let this be the ONLY PROP on ballot, to increase passage.

THIRD: PROP 1 violates basic principles in CA’s Constitution that a Bond MUST be for a SINGLE PROJECT. PROP 1 has several (Mental Health Facilities, Homeless Housing, and diverting current funds).

FOURTH: PROP 1 will actually make helping the Homeless WORSE, as the Prop DIVERTS current Tax Revenue AWAY from COUNTY Mental Health Programs, and into STATE programs & housing, instead. That is why CalVoices (CA’s oldest Mental Health Advocacy group) is even OPPOSING PROP 1. Counties would NOT have funds to keep current programs going.

WHO ALSO SUPPORTS A “NO” ON PROP 1? CA GOP (Repub Party), Reform California, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assoc, Mental Health groups, and even OC Register Newspaper.

Per Reform California:

“California’s homelessness crisis will absolutely get worse if Prop 1 passes. Prop 1 raids and diverts funding from treatment programs that serve homeless people in favor of giving billions in subsidies to rich developers for expensive government-subsidized mega housing projects. The mega government housing projects that would be subsidized under Prop 1 have been criticized by numerous independent government auditors for being wasteful – costing as much as $1 million per unit! That is hardly “affordable housing! Prop 1 also eliminates your right to vote to reject government welfare housing projects from being placed in your neighborhood. We need to REJECT Prop 1 and tell politicians to use our precious funds for more efficient options like treatment and shelter beds for the homeless!”

MEASURE A-CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH-Charter Amendment for City ELECTION INTEGRITY

Recommendation: BIG FAT “YES”

Comments: MEAS A says, that beginning in 2026, the city will provide more In-Person Voting locations, will monitor Ballot Drop-Boxes, and will require Voter ID’S for proof of Citizenship. What a good COMMON SENSE measure, that most voters, I believe want (both in HB and America) to insure fair city elections. Sounds good to me!

MEASURE B-CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH-Charter Amendment-City Property Flags

Recommendation: YES

Comments: MEAS B provides that the ONLY flags to be displayed by City are US Flag, 6 Armed Forces Flags, Olympic Flag (during Olympic Games), and any other flag, if authorized by a unanimous vote of the City Council. Another COMMONSENSE Measure that I believe most HB Voters would want, and support. Supported by the HB Conservative City Council Members, i.e., Mayor, Tony Strickland, Mayor Pro-Tem, Gracey Van Der Mark, City Council Members, Pat Burns, and Casey McKeon. This measure is opposed by the liberal CC members, i.e., Dan Kalmick, Natalie Moser, and Rhonda Bolton.

MEASURE C -CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH-Charter Amendment Changing Some Procedures

Recommendation: YES

Comments: Beginning in 2026, MEAS C requires HB to adopt a 2 yr budget, update the procedures to cancel a regular City Council meeting, updates the process to fill a City Council vacancy, and amends outdated phrases, syntax, dates, pronouns, and titles. A good update for the city. I say, YES! Would help the City of Huntington Beach operate more efficiently and effectively, benefitting residents and taxpayers.

MEASURE D- CITY OF IRVINE - Expand City Council and Establish District Voting

Recommendation: “Reluctant” YES

Comments: MEAS D will add 2 more City Council (CC) positions and will create a system to Elect City Council by District, instead of “at-large”, as it is currently.

I personally prefer “AT-LARGE” Voting, so that a city can get the very best leaders possible from the whole city, and have that candidate want the best for the city, as a whole, instead of just the area the candidate represents. Also, “District Voting” inappropriately makes RACE a predominant factor in elections.

However, since the passage of the CALIFORNIA VOTING ACT and its amendments, DISTRICT VOTING, it is being forced on virtually all OC cities, and all of CA, under threat of being sued. The cities that have sued, have lost and city tax money was paid to settle. Therefore, I see it as a FORCED reality. I’m guessing IRVINE’S CC, which leans Liberal, is putting it to a vote, ahead of a lawsuit. Regarding increasing the size of the CC is inevitable because Irvine has grown in population. This would change to City Council from 5 to 7 members, including the mayor.

MEASURE E- CITY OF WESTMINSTER

Recommendation: NO

Comments: MEAS E would increase the Sales Tax for the City of Westminster by .5%, Currently, it is 8.75%, and would be 9.25%, if passed. Does the city need it? Likely yes, because Westminster is struggling financially. But I am strongly opposed to all TAX increases. It would be better to concentrate on EMPLOYEE Compensation Reform and Pension Retirement Reform, and just “tighten the Budget Belt”. City Tax was increased 1% in 2017 to put it over the MAJORITY over most OC Cities! Right now, of the 34 OC Cities, only 19 have Sales TAX rates of 9% or over. (Most So OC Cities like mine, Mission Viejo, is 7.75%.)

SCHOOL

MEASURES

ORANGE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT-RECALL OF 2 BOARD MEMBERS

Recommendation: NO on the RECALL

Comments: This is a RECALL effort to remove 2 CONSERVATIVE School Board Members, Madison Klovstad Miner and Rick Ledesma, from School Board. These 2 were part of the conservative majority of 4, who voted to fire the District’s Superintendent and put the Asst Sup on paid leave in Jan 2023, in an effort to RE-FOCUS on academics, and AWAY from the Social Politics of education. The recall was instigated by extreme activists, teacher union bosses, and other special interests attempting to oust the elected conservatives. These 2 (along w/other conservatives) believe Parents and Children, should come first. They oppose explicit, and inappropriate materials in schools, believe in cutting bloated budgets, and protecting parents' rights. VOTE NO to keep current board.

In agreement with me on a NO, are OC GOP (Republican Party), Reform CA, and the OC Register Newspaper.
